Heather's Fertility Diary: Health Insurance

Posted by on Feb 17, 2013 in Coping, Experience, Fertility, Support | Comments Off

As some of you may know, I have been off work due to surgeries and my poor health. I have been off of work since mid-October, and I have had to cover my portion of my health coverage premiums. However, my checking account is running on empty. My husband and I have had to dip into our emergency funds a lot lately and our emergency stash is basically non-existent. Since I have been off work, we have had to pay $266 every two weeks for healthcare coverage. $532 per month for insurance premiums is more than we can handle now. It’s reminded me of all the surgeries I’ve had that I now have war marks on my stomach. It’s even reminded me of the relationships I’ve been in with men that thought they could handle this horrible disease and quickly ran...

essay writing Before I begin to jump in on sharing my fertility journey, and my personal feelings and emotions regarding the issue, I think that I should give you a short biography about myself. For starters, my name is Heather Pickens. I grew up in the Midwestern region of the United States before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona in the spring of 2012. I am 26 years old, and have been married for four years. Like many of you, I live with endometriosis. I also have been diagnosed with two other chronic illnesses, Interstitial Cystitis and PFD. I launched the Hello Endo blog in December of 2012...

Endometriosis has many side effects, one of the biggest ones being exhaustion. Exhaustion comes fro a body being stressed out from living in pain, from all the medications we may take, and from chronic stress and adrenal overload. Combatting exhaustion needs a rounded approach, including nutrition, rest, mindfulness, stress reduction and perhaps holistic therapies such as acupuncture and massage. This wonderful resource by Elwin Robinson, called The Easy Exhaustion Cure, is a fabulous read for endo warriors. Elwin is someone who really knows about burnout and fatigue, and shares many...
